The Early Bird deadline may be too late for Londoners looking to grab a ticket for the Dream Lottery.

Officials with the lottery announced Friday that based on the current sales pace, available tickets are likely to be gone before the Early Bird sales deadline of Thursday, November 30 at midnight.

“There has definitely been a lot of buzz around the homes this year,” Children’s Health Foundation President and CEO Scott Fortnum said.

“The combination of amazing prizes along with a great cause, where the proceeds stay local, has definitely driven sales.”

The last time tickets for the Dream Lottery sold out was in the spring of 2010. Since it began in 1996, the lottery has sold out six times.

If tickets run out, the draw date can’t be changed due to Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario regulations. The Dream homes would close once tickets sell out to help reduce costs and maximize the proceeds going towards St. Joseph’s Health Care London, London Health Sciences Centre, and Children’s Hospital at LHSC.

Even if tickets run out, Dream ticket holders can continue to purchase 50/50 tickets by phone until the final sales deadline of midnight December 14. Currently, the prize pool is over $875,000 with the winner taking half.
