Handcuffed prisoner who escaped custody in Yorkton, Sask. arrested

A prisoner who escaped custody while handcuffed is back in custody.

Yorkton RCMP said Kevin Poullett, 33, was arrested at a home in the Saskatchewan city at around 7:50 a.m. CT on Tuesday.

Poullett had requested medical attention and was being escorted by Mounties to the hospital in Yorkton on Nov. 19.

The prisoner escaped out the rear of the hospital at around 5:45 p.m. CT the same day. He was still wearing handcuffs and hospital slippers.

RCMP said the escaped prisoner was not a threat to the community, but reminded people to lock their homes and vehicles.

Yorkton is approximately 305 kilometres east of Saskatoon.
