Families face big cleanup after summer homes destroyed by vandals

CALGARY- More than a dozen families who own summer homes east of Calgary are facing an unbelievable cleanup after vandals targeted their cabins.

It happened sometime over the past 24 hours at the Hidden Valley Resort, where residents have been trying to negotiate with the Siksika Nation after the band voted not to renew their lease.

14 cabins were completely trashed. Windows were smashed, mirrors and light fixtures broken, cupboards and appliances destroyed. Virtually nothing was spared.

Homeowners are struggling to understand the motivation behind the destruction, and police have launched an investigation.
