Seven more years of Blue Bomber football broadcasts on CJOB – the Winnipeg Football Club and Corus Entertainment announced Thursday they have extended their long-standing agreement through to 2024.

The partnership means 680 CJOB will continue to be the official radio station of Blue Bomber football, broadcasting all of the teams home and away games.  Global Winnipeg also extended their relationship with the club as the official community TV partner.

“Global Winnipeg and 680 CJOB are thrilled to expand our long standing partnership with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, ” said Kenton Boston, Vice-President, Global News & Corus Radio, Western Canada.

“We are so proud of the football club and our relationship with the Bomber organization and are excited to bring Winnipeggers the most comprehensive CFL coverage on the field… and in the community.   We are just getting started,” Boston said.

“We will continue to work together to grow our collective reach into the community to ensure we help those that need our help the most… both our organizations are very aware of our fans, our listeners and our viewers and will work particularly hard to ensure we continue to unite the city, and the province. Together we can shine a light on areas and issues which can lead to a better Winnipeg,” Boston said.

Along with game coverage, CJOB will be the only place to get in-depth, original Blue Bombers programming. They remain the exclusive carrier for special Bomber features, community initiatives and events throughout the year. Listeners will continue to hear exclusive play-by-play of every game, led by acclaimed broadcaster Bob Irving, and colour-commentator Doug Brown.

“For years, the voice of Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Irving and 680 CJOB have been synonymous with Blue Bomber football,” said Blue Bombers President & CEO, Wade Miller.

“We’re thrilled that our fans will be able to continue listening to their most trusted source for Blue Bomber coverage, and we look forward to continue working with the talented Corus team.”

In celebration of the renewed partnership, Bombers and Corus have teamed up to support the Winnipeg Boys & Girls Club by sending children to every home game.
