The incident happened after Walker tried to intervene in what she saw as a rider sexually harassing a young woman. A man who was not involved in the situation stood up and challenged her verbally and punched her after she defended her actions.
The suspect ran out the rear door of the bus at a stop at the University of Winnipeg.
Walker suffered broken teeth and injuries to her face.
Police are looking for a 20-to-30 year-old man, about 6′ tall, with a skinny build, dark hair and a goatee. He was wearing a brown or orange tuque, green parka, blue jeans and work boots.
