The Peterborough Petes will be decked out in maroon, black and cream plaid sweaters when they play Sarnia on Thursday.

It’s all in support of the United Way of Peterborough and District’s 2017 campaign, which has a fundraising target of $1.85 million.

“We decided to keep the Petes’ colours, in a subtle way, while keeping the theme as plaid,” said Matt D’Agostini, senior coordinator, Group Ticket Sales and Service for the Petes.

The jerseys will be auctioned off starting at noon on Thursday.  Bidding will close on Sunday, Nov. 12.

The Petes will take on the top team in the country that night in the Sarnia Sting.

The Sting have 14 wins and only one loss through their first 15 games this season.

“It’s going to be an exciting night. You always look forward to facing the top teams in the league,” said Jody Hull, head coach of the Petes.

Thursday’s game starts at 7:05 p.m.
