Photos of a nearly three-metre long shark have been circulating on social media after its remains washed up on a beach in Nova Scotia on Monday.
The shark was reportedly observed on Sunday night struggling in the surf of Inverness Beach and although some bystanders attempted to drag it back into the water their efforts appear to have been in vain.

According to Canada’s Department of Fisheries and Oceans, there are nineteen sharks commonly found in the Atlantic region.
Anne Kennedy snapped these photos when she found the shark Monday morning.
