York Regional Police said the incident took place near Yonge Street and Davis Drive around 9:50 p.m. on Saturday.

The victim was sent to hospital with serious injuries but died a short time later.

“I’m a little scared and worried not something you want but things happen.”

Bellman said police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

“Detectives are appealing to neighbours or witnesses that may have seen or heard something [Saturday] night around 10 p.m.,” he said.

“And if people in the neighbourhood have any surveillance cameras on their houses, if they come across something, contact police.”
