Economy Minister Bill Boyd says the changes are needed so the province can offer a better business environment and stay ahead of other jurisdictions.

“In the last year alone, our ministries, crowns and agencies updated more than 100 regulations, policies, procedures and programs that have reduced the impact of regulations on Saskatchewan’s citizens and enhanced customer service,” says Boyd.

Those include consolidating regulations into a more manageable form, resolving overlapping and inconsistent regulations and removing obsolete or outdated ones.

The 2012-13 regulatory modernization progress report which details the changes will be released on Tuesday.
