N.S. SPCA worker transported to hospital after dog attack, LifeFlight dispatched

Nova Scotia RCMP are reporting that a volunteer at the Nova Scotia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NS SPCA) has suffered serious injuries after being attacked by a dog.

According to police, the incident occurred at the NS SPCA’s location in Waterville, N.S. and the woman’s injuries are severe.

The RCMP say that the woman was transported to the hospital by ambulance and that she may be transported by LifeFlight helicopter to a hospital in Halifax.

Radio chatter has confirmed that a LifeFlight helicopter has been dispatched to the Kentville area.

The RCMP say that the dog has since been captured by animal control and RCMP officers.
