No charges have been laid at this time.

Annette Vance told Global News she had been driving to an appointment with her mother when she looked to the left and saw a body on the road.

“I stopped, I got out of the car and went to help the victim,” Vance said. “I called 911 right away. I knew his injuries were really bad, and I tried to direct traffic.”

“I wish that driver had stopped and helped,” said Vance. “I like to have faith in humanity and maybe they just didn’t realize what they had done.

“But I could be wrong.”

Another witness, Chris, told Global News the intersection itself isn’t known to be a dangerous one for pedestrians, but he has seen drivers speed through on occasion.
