“The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news,” the palace said in September.

Severe morning sickensss

In her previous two pregnancies, the Duchess was hospitalized because of her severe morning sickness — hyperemesis gravidarum (HG).

The condition, which is dubbed as an “extreme form” of morning sickness, causes severe nausea and vomiting throughout a pregnancy. It could also lead to dehydration and increased fluid intake, Healthline notes.

However, HG itself is quite rare — only two per cent of women deal with severe symptoms similar to the Duchess. The American Academy of Family Physicians estimates the condition affects one in every 200 women.
