1st-degree murder charge in death of west-end woman

TORONTO – Toronto police have charged a 30-year-old man with first-degree murder in connection with the death of an Etobicoke woman.

Police say the remains were found on Richgrove Drive in the Martin Grove Road and Eglinton Avenue West area early yesterday.

Police arrested a man at a gas station in Mississauga shortly after the woman was found. Police say there were obvious signs of trauma on her body. They haven’t determined how she died. The name of the 27-year-old woman – who was pronounced dead at the scene – has not been released.

Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah appeared in court Sunday afternoon.
