A woman from Curve Lake First Nation is dead following a head-on crash in Selwyn Township on Saturday morning.
Peterborough County OPP and emergency crews responded to the collision around 10:30 a.m. along Selwyn Road at Birch Island Road. Police determined that a northbound pickup truck crossed the centre line and collided with a southbound SUV.
The passenger in the SUV – Carol Marie Crapp, 73 – died at the scene, police said.
The driver of the SUV was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre with minor injuries; the driver of the pickup was not injured.
Selwyn Road between 10th Line and 11th Line of Selwyn was closed for several hours as OPP investigated.
“The circumstances surrounding this collision remain under investigation,” OPP stated.
