A Dartmouth man has been charged with attempted murder and robbery in connection with an assault this week that left a man with life-threatening injuries.
Halifax Regional Police were called to a home on Gaston Road on Monday night just before 9 p.m.

Police say they found a 59-year-old man with serious injuries.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance and remains there.

On Tuesday night, police arrested Kenneth Wayne Hodder, 53, at another residence on Gaston Road and executed a search warrant at that home.

Through the course of their investigation, police discovered that money was stolen from the victim after the assault.
Hodder is charged with attempted murder and robbery and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Thursday.
Police say this was not a random act and that Hodder and the victim are known to each other.
