TTC employees charged in theft investigation

TORONTO – Two Toronto Transit Commission employees face theft charges after allegedly pocketing transit fares.

Police say between January 2012 and March of this year, a TTC fare collector received cash from customers and did not turn the money over to the transit commission.

Krishna Rajkumar, 47, of Markham faces eight counts of theft under $5,000 and eight counts of fail to collect fare.

Police have also charged Paul Vardy, 56, of Pickering for similar offences between October 2012 and March 2013.

Vardy faces 14 charges in connection to the theft.
