Country singer Jason Aldean called the mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas late Sunday night “beyond horrific” and confirmed that his crew and family is safe following the attack, which left at least 58 people dead and more than 500 injured.
Aldean was performing at the end of the three-day Route 91 Harvest Festival when a lone gunman opened fire across the street from a 32nd-floor hotel room, raining bullets down on the outdoor music festival on the Las Vegas Strip Sunday night.

“Tonight has been beyond horrific. I still don’t know what to say but wanted to let everyone know that me and my crew are safe,” Aldean wrote on Instagram.
“My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight. It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy what should have been a fun night.” He added the hashtags #heartbroken and #stopthehate.

Aldean’s wife, Brittany, also posted to her Instagram account. “We are safe… our angels were definitely watching over us tonight. No words for what happened… Just horrific. Praying for everyone.”
Aldean was performing as the shooting began. In a fan-captured video of the deadly attack, the country singer is seen running off the stage shortly after gunshots are heard.

Country singer Chris Young was also at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas. He took to Twitter writing, “Spent I don’t know how long on the floor of a trailer behind the stage… know multiple people are dead. Listening to that gunfire…” and “I’m literally shaking still.”

Many members of the country music community offered their prayers and thoughts for the victims.

Canadian singer Céline Dion, who has a Las Vegas residency at Ceasars Palace, took to Twitter writing, “Praying for all the innocent victims and their families in Las Vegas.”
Mariah Carey, who returns to Las Vegas’ The Colosseum this December with her Christmas concert series All I Want For Christmas Is You, took to Twitter writing, “Horrified to hear about the shooting in #LasVegas. My thoughts are with the victims and their families. Praying for everyone’s safety.”
R&B singer Trey Songz was in Las Vegas during the shooting and took to Twitter to announce his safety. “Don’t even know what to say. To be in Vegas while this is happening, brings a pain to my heart. My team and I are safe Thank God! Prayers up,” he wrote.

Other celebrities took to social media to offer their thoughts and prayers.
U.S. President Donald Trump also offered his “warmest condolences and sympathies” to the victims.
