Waverley Street and Taylor Avenue intersection closing during rush hour for weekend

The city of Winnipeg has released this graphic showing the proposed design of the Waverley Underpass.

Starting Friday during the drive home rush hour, the intersection of Waverley Street and Taylor Avenue will be shutting down for the weekend.

At 5:30 p.m. traffic will be rerouted as crews work on the Waverley Underpass project.

Waverley between Mathers Avenue and Wilkes Avenue/Hurst Way will be closed as well as Taylor Avenue between Cambridge Street and east of the Reh-Fit Centre.

The intersection is expected to remain closed until Monday at 6 a.m.

Construction workers will be finishing the detour road that will be used for about two years while the underpass bridge and roadway are being built.
