A school that was at capacity before it even opened its doors is now adding eight more classrooms.
Amber Trails Community School officially opened its doors just over two and a half years ago and has already gone well over capacity.

On Tuesday, Education and Training Minister Ian Wishart announced the additions could be completed by December 2018.
He said the K-Grade 8 school was built to accommodate 600 students but is currently over capacity with an enrollment of 754 students this fall. The new additions are expected to bring enrollment capacity at the school up to 800.

“This expansion will create a more comfortable learning environment for our students and staff,” Brian O’Leary, superintendent of Seven Oaks School Division said in a statement.
While bids for the project won’t start until January 2018, the Minister said its projects a cost between $4 and $4.5 million.
