People living in the area, including Kharma’s father Randell, said they will now fight for something more to keep children safe.

“I would make sure that no other children die here, I’m going to do everything I can, if I have to build the goddamn thing myself,” Brown said.

He said he wants to see a crossing arm or an additional fence put in place that would come down and block the crossing when a train is coming through.

A gofundme account was set up to help the family with funeral costs.
