Saskatoon police officers found themselves in a “slithery” situation on Sunday.
Police received a call early in the evening from someone saying they were “99 per cent sure there was a boa constrictor” on a road at the east end of 8th Street.

Officers arrived to find a five-foot red-tailed boa constrictor.
A passing driver gave the officers a Rubbermaid container to hold the snake.
After capturing it, the officers took the snake to the conservation officer and then to a veterinarian.
The red-tailed boa constrictor has since been turned over to a local snake wrangler, who will take care of it for 30 days.
The snake will then be removed from the province.
