According to RCMP a car and a logging truck side-swiped each other, which caused both vehicles to spin out of control just before 6 a.m.

The logging truck took out a hydro pole and power lines before it started on fire. That fire then spread to a grassy field, but crews were able to contain it. The car also rolled into a nearby field.

The highway was closed for two hours while emergency crews dealt with the crash and its aftermath. The road is now open to single-lane alternating traffic according to Drive BC.

RCMP don’t believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash, but are still investigating what caused it.
