Vancouver School Board trustees are getting schooled on how to do their job.
The first candidate orientation session takes place later this month, but it isn’t mandatory.
However, for the nine incoming trustees they will take part in a series of workshops between November and January next year.
A memo from the board’s Interim Superintendent John Lewis says trustees will get lessons on how to fulfill their duties and what the job entails.

Lewis adds the workshops have been developed to “support trustees and the Board of Education.”
The board was fired last year for failing to pass a balanced budget and a work safe investigation also revealed bullying took place within the Vancouver School Board.
