George Clooney is opening up about the trials and tribulations of fatherhood, after welcoming newborn twins with his wife, Amal Clooney, back in June.
Speaking with ET Canada’s Cheryl Hickey at the 42nd annual Toronto International Film Festival in promotion of his new film “Suburbicon”, the new dad revealed the responsibility he feels raising his daughter, Ella, and son, Alexander, in a heated political climate.

“A lot of things make me nervous now with kids,” the 56-year-old star explains. “What you want from your children is you want to make sure that they are compassionate and that they pay attention to the rest of the world.”

With Clooney stepping behind the camera to direct his latest film, the actor admits he doesn’t mind moving away from the leading man role. He explains, “As you get older, the characters that you want to play and the things that you’re interested in playing are a little more complex and you’re hoping to find those.”

“I’ve been lucky enough to have some really interesting characters that I’ve gotten to play,” he adds, noting, “If I find a good director and a good script, I’d do it.”
Speaking with “Suburbicon” co-star Julianne Moore, Clooney revealed he would possibly be open to doing a romantic comedy with the star, joking, “I’ll do one with you.” Watch the hilarious moment below.
