A teen, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to a reduced charge of manslaughter in the murder case of 42-year-old Terry Pringle. The teen had been facing a charge of first-degree murder.
Pringle’s body was found in his Stewart Street apartment in the early morning of Nov. 26. Police say he died of blunt force trauma. He will appear in court in late November. A second youth is also charged with first degree murder. In all, six people are charged in relation to Pringle’s death.
The crown and defense proposed a publication ban on facts read in open court Wednesday but this was opposed by media outlets. Justice Esther Rosenberg imposed a temporary ban till the two sides can present their cases on September 27.
In August, one of the adults in the case, 25-year old Samantha Hall, pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit bodily harm. She will be sentenced Oct. 31.
Other adults facing charges include Jordan Kelly Osborne, charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence. Christopher Mitchell Bolton and Joseph Douglas Crawford both face charges of accessory after the fact to murder. All will appear in court in November for preliminary hearings
