A survey released Wednesday places Peterborough’s Fleming College in the number two spot in the province for in-school training of apprentices.
Students who had received in-school apprenticeship training were given the chance to fill in a student satisfaction survey — the first of its kind in the province.
Fleming College had the second highest overall student satisfaction rate in the province with 84.5 per cent of apprenticeship students reporting they were either very satisfied or satisfied with their overall experience at Fleming.
“We are extremely pleased to see Fleming as a provincial leader in student satisfaction among apprenticeship students,” said Maxine Mann, Dean of Fleming College’s School of Trades and Technology. “It is a testament to our expert faculty as well as the amazing learning environment – the Kawartha Trades and Technology Centre – which provides students with a state-of-the-art educational experience.”
As well:
- 93.8 per cent of apprenticeship students at Fleming felt the program was giving them the knowledge and skills needed for their career, the highest satisfaction rate in the province.
- Fleming scored 88.5 per cent satisfaction on the overall quality of the learning experiences.
- 86.5 per cent of apprenticeship students were very satisfied/satisfied with the overall quality of the facilities and resources at Fleming, well above the 74 per cent provincial average and the second highest rate in Ontario.
