Toronto police are searching for a man who escaped lawful custody at a courthouse in the city’s northwest end on Tuesday.
Police said Jumar Lennon, 24, was last seen at the Finch courthouse, at Finch Avenue West and Arrow Road near Highway 400, around 12:30 p.m.
Const. Steve Hammond told AM640 Lennon was before the courts at the time of his escape, but couldn’t say what charges he was appearing on.
Police also couldn’t comment on how Lennon escaped custody or how many guards were present at the time.
Lennon is described as standing 5’8″ tall, 141 pounds, with brown eyes, short black afro-style hair, a small chin beard and moustache. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a white tank top.
Police issued a warning not to approach Lennon if he is seen, but to call 911 immediately.
