Motorcyclists identifed in weekend fatal crash north of Buckhorn

OPP have identified the three motorcyclists who died in a collision on Highway 507 north of Buckhorn, Ont., on Sunday afternoon.

Two people were pronounced dead at the scene and a third motorcyclist was taken to hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The victims are Scott Knill, 45, of Woodville, Ont., Mark Langhorne, 40, of Oshawa and Greg Campbell, 43, of Toronto.

A fourth motorcyclist was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries from the crash near Charlie Allen Road, about 13 kilometres north of Buckhorn.

On Tuesday morning, Peterborough County OPP offered more details on their investigation: Around 12:30 p.m., a northbound motorcycle among a group of 11 crossed over the centre line in a curve and collided with two southbound motorcycles in a group of three.

Shortly after the initial crash, another northbound motorcyclist collided with a car that had stopped at the scene, OPP say. Another northbound motorcyclist veered off the highway and into a ditch.

The road was closed for several hours as police investigated.
