A wildfire is now under control near Munro Lake Forest Service Road and McDougald Road.
The location is five and a half kilometres southwest of Peachland.
The fire grew to four hectares before crews managed to get it 100 per cent contained.
No evacuation alerts were issued, issued, but the fire was burning within one kilometre of structures.
A crew of 23 from the B.C. Wildfire service came in with three helicopters and several planes to dump water and retardant on the blaze area.
The biggest concern was that the fire was burning within a kilometres of the community’s water treatment plant.
It began about 3:30 Friday afternoon.
Fire Departments from up and down the Okanagan valley also assisted the Peachland Fire Department in fighting the flames before it was handed over to the BC Wildfire Service.
The cause of the wildfire is under investigation.
