New hosts of ‘The National’ named

Adrienne Arsenault, Rosemary Barton, Andrew Chang and Ian Hanomansing are the new hosts of The National.

In a livestreamed press conference on Tuesday, CBC announced the new anchors of the flagship news program.

Senior correspondent Arsenault, Power & Politics host Barton, Vancouver local news host Chang and News Network anchor Hanomansing were named hosts for the program that will debut in November.

Peter Mansbridge stepped down from his role as anchor and chief correspondent in July after nearly three decades with the program.

The broadcaster also plans to retool the format of its nightly news broadcast when the show relaunches in the fall.
