Singers with the Trinity College Choir from Cambridge were unpacking their luggage outside St. George’s Cathedral Thursday afternoon when someone stole one of their bags from the sidewalk.

The small bag contained their passports and other important documents.

Despite the crime, the internationally renowned choir still performed a few hours later to a sold out crowd.

Kingston Mayor Bryan Paterson is appealing to whoever has the bag to please return it as quickly as possible.

“It’s great to be able to welcome groups that are international to Kingston and we want to make sure that everyone has the best possible experience here so I would just appeal to who ever has that bag to please return it as quickly as possible.”

The group is scheduled to perform in Ottawa Friday, the final stop on their Ontario tour.
