Kelly Flock’s family thanks Calgarians for outpouring of support after missing senior found dead

The family of a missing Calgary senior is thanking the community for their support after learning his remains have been located.

Kelly Flock, 68, was last seen at a restaurant in the 2700 block of 34 Avenue S.W. on Thursday, June 22.

On Friday, police announced a body found in southwest Calgary on Thursday had been identified as Flock.

The body was found in the late evening near Flock’s home. His death is not considered suspicious.

The night before Flock’s body was identified by police, hundreds of people gathered at a candlelight vigil for him in a field by the  Marda Loop Community Association.

His family had offered a $10,000 reward to help find Flock.

In a news release, the Calgary Police Service thanked the public for their help searching for Flock and extended their condolences to his family and friends.

WATCH: Kelly Flock’s brother Brad issued a statement after the missing senior was found deceased.

“A beautiful, kind and gentle soul has left us,” Flock’s brother Brad said Friday. “We were devastated to learn this morning that our beloved father, brother and dear friend, Kelly Flock, has passed away.

“The outpouring of support and generosity of everyone who helped is a testament to the man he was.

“We are very grateful for the love and support of the Calgary community. To the thousands of volunteers out searching and the hundreds that showed up at the vigil last night, we thank you.”
