Some Calgary commuters faced delays on their way into work on Tuesday thanks to a deluge of rain that caused water to pool on city streets.
The rain caused flash flooding at a new underpass under construction on 16 Avenue at Sarcee Trail N.W.
A vehicle became stuck in the water, trapping the driver inside. However, Calgary firefighters were able to get him out safely.
The rain also contributed to flooding along Hidden Valley Drive N.W. near Hidden Valley Landing N.W.
Not only did the rain cause problems for drivers, it also caused flooding at a pet store on 16 Avenue N.E.
Jody Prevost from Especially 4 Pets said the organization wasn’t able to open its doggy daycare for the day.
