The incident occurred in the McCowan Road and Bur Oak Avenue area on Saturday June 10th at around 1:30 p.m.

Police said a father and daughter were separated for a short period of time while in the grocery store. During that split, police said an older man can be seen following her. The man eventually began to speak to the girl apparently telling her his name was “George” before exposing himself and instructing her not to tell anyone what he did.

Investigators said it appeared the man followed the young girl around the store both before and after the incident.

The father of the young girl contacted police after his daughter told him what happened while the two were driving home.

York Police in Markham say the suspect turned himself in on Friday. 74 year old Philip Accordino of Markham is charged with criminal harrasment, and exposing genital organs to a person under the age of 16. He appears in court on Wednesday June 21.
