A Niverville man is recovering in hospital after police say he was stabbed early Thursday morning.
RCMP were called to a house in Niverville around 12:40 a.m. and found the 52-year-old victim bleeding from a stab wound in the upper body.
The victim told police he heard noises in his garage and went to investigate. When he entered the garage, a man was inside. The two fought before the victim was stabbed once.
Police dogs and more officers were called and were able to find the suspect and take him into custody.
A 20-year-old Niverville man is charged with break and enter, assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.

The victim is in stable condition at the hospital.
Police say the suspect and victim knew each other and that officers are continuing to investigate.
