The Hamilton Bulldogs have named Burlington native Dave Matsos an associate coach.

Matsos has spent the last four years in Sudbury and served as head coach of the Wolves for the last two-and-a-half seasons.

Before his stint up north, the 43-year-old was an assistant coach in Windsor for three years.

Matsos launched his coaching career in England in 2006 where he guided the Sheffield Steelers to three straight championships.

“We’re extremely pleased to add Dave Matsos to our coaching staff,” said Bulldogs president and general manager, Steve Staios. “Dave will be a great complement and support to head coach John Gruden in his role as associate coach. He is a great communicator and will help our players and team as a whole, take another step forward. Dave’s approach to the game will fit perfectly with what we’re trying to accomplish here in Hamilton and his attention to detail is second to none.”
