After an off-day on Monday, the Edmonton Eskimos were back on Tuesday morning to begin Week 3 of training camp on The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium.
The Eskimos completed their final full practice session of training camp on Tuesday. They will hold a walk-through Wednesday, then will board a plane on Thursday bound for Manitoba to play the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to close out the pre-season.
The Eskimos had to wait two weeks to play their first pre-season game and just five days to play their second game which is fine, according to Head Coach Jason Maas.
“We feel good about it. We know the guys that are going to be playing are going to have their legs back and they’ll give us everything they’ve got.”
The Eskimos received some good news on the injury front. Receiver Shamawd Chambers practised for the first time since suffering a suspected hamstring injury during the first week of training camp.

Chambers signed back with the Eskimos in the off-season after spending the 2016 season with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He said not having a full training camp under his belt is disappointing.
“I kind of feel new here,” Chambers said. “It might be in my sixth year, but you want to be able to show the coaches exactly what you can do even though they’ve obviously seen film.
“They kind of know me better just because of me being in the building before. I’m thankful that I’m back and I’m ready to go.”
Defensive back Johnny Adams practised Tuesday after leaving Sunday’s pre-season game in the first half with a right knee injury. Defensive back Marcell Young didn’t participate in Tuesday’s session because of a lower-body injury suffered on Sunday. Young may be back in time for the regular season opener on June 24 in Vancouver.
Several veterans will sit out of Thursday’s game in Winnipeg including quarterback Mike Reilly. James Franklin is expected to start with Danny O’Brien and Zach Kline seeing playing time.
630 CHED will have live coverage of Thursday’s pre-season finale starting with Countdown to Kick-off at 5 p.m. The opening kick-off from Investors Group Field in Winnipeg will be at 6:30 p.m.
