The search for 70-year-old paraglider Joseph Chromy, who went missing in the mountains south of Chilliwack this morning, has ended well.
The sport enthusiast was found safe and sound after police had found just his backpack and paraglider earlier in the day.
Chromy had been in contact with his family via a cell phone.
Agassiz RCMP say they received a report at approximately 5 a.m. Monday that the paraglider did not return home from an excursion Sunday.
RCMP, along with Kent Harrison Search and Rescue, initiated an extensive ground search in the region of Elk Mountain.
Search and rescue crews said the paraglider ended up getting caught up in some trees.
