As Okanagan residents deal with flooding on the valley bottom, drivers are having to cope with hazardous conditions on the mountain passes.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Okanagan Valley.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

It says freezing levels over the BC interior have dropped significantly in the wake of a cold front and that some highway passes can expect near or below freezing temperatures this morning.

Environment Canada says some of the passes may receive flurries and that snow may accumulate on the highways.

Today’s high is only 14 degrees Celsius, however, temperatures are expected to climb into the high 20’s by the end of the week.
