RCMP in Maple Ridge are investigating a fatal crash that killed one person Tuesday night.
It happened just before midnight on Lougheed Highway at 240 Street.

A car went off the road and struck a power pole. The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene. Their identity has not been released at this time.
The crash also knocked out power to dozens of residents in the area for several hours and closed the Lougheed Highway in both directions.
