A bank employee put his own life at risk to save a customer who was taken hostage by a knife-wielding robber in a bank in China’s southwestern Guangxi Province, state media reported.
Surveillance camera inside a branch of the Agricultural Bank of China in Binyang County recorded the incident which happened April 8.

A man approached a female customer who was sitting in front of a teller window and suddenly put a knife against her neck.
The lobby manager told CCTV the man “threatened and demanded ten thousand yuan (US$1,450) in cash.”
But the video shows the lobby manager offer himself as hostage in exchange for the release of the woman.

As the manager goes to sit down he is seen grabbing the wrist of the attacker at the same time a security guard rushed him from behind.
The two men were able to tackle the man and pin the robber on the floor.
The robber was later arrested by local police, CCTV reported.
