Do you know who your prom date was?
Ask Jim Bowman who he took to the big dance and there would be no hesitation.
That’s because the 81-year-old never forgot.
The two reconnected after the pair, who had both previously been married and had kids, lost their spouses.

Instead of living the remainder of his days alone, Bowman decided to get in touch with the woman he had loved long ago.
Bowman wrote a letter to Kevorkian last fall, which rekindled their relationship.
“We telephoned together for many hours and emailed for quite a bit before I actually came out to visit her,” Bowman told WSBT. “We kind of asked each other, what happens when we see each other for the first time in 64 years if we don’t like what we see?”
When they met last December in South Bend, Indiana, where Kevorkian lived, the extra wrinkles and grey hair didn’t dampen their feelings.
“They say that a person never forgets their first real love, and it’s like there was a spark that was still smoldering in each of our hearts,” Bowman explained.
“It was just like being 17 again,” Kevorkian told BuzzFeed News.
“Our parents would have fallen over dead if we said we’d wanted to get married then when we were 17,” Kevorkian said. “I don’t think we thought seriously then.”

Soon the octogenarians were going steady. But it didn’t take long for the two, who had been kept apart for so long after they split ways to go to college, to take an even bigger step.
“I remember you said on the phone will you marry me? And I said, ‘that’s a good idea,'” Kevorkian said, laughing.
“Our getting together was meant to be,” added Bowman.
Kevorkian and Bowman got hitched earlier this month in a small ceremony, surrounded by friends and family, including Kevorkian’s only granddaughter, who was also her maid of honour.
The newlyweds have already gone on their honeymoon and are now focused on using their 100 years of combined marriage experience to make sure they enjoy the rest of their time together.
“Now we’re going to make the most of every moment that we have because we’re both 81 years old,” Bowman said. “That’s just a numerical value. We’re young at heart.”
