Toronto police are looking for a man who allegedly assaulted a condo dweller last year after being denied entry into a Liberty Village residence for an apparent food delivery.
Investigators say a 40-year-old resident returning home encountered a food delivery man at the security entrance to his building looking to get in for a supposed restaurant drop.
“The man (tenant) was approached at the security door by the delivery man who wanted access to the building,” said Toronto police Cst. Jen Sidhu. “The resident told the other man that he would have to wait until someone in a unit buzzes him in.”
Moments later, another man opened the main entrance and let the delivery man slip through to the lobby. The 40-year-old confronted the delivery man and an altercation ensued.
“The argument escalated and the resident was physically assaulted before the other man fled,” Sidhu said. “The victim received non-life threatening injuries, but did endure injuries to his face.”
The suspect is described as being in his late 20s, 6’2″ with a medium build and wearing a black bandana.

Sidhu says that tenants in big buildings should be wary of letting unknown people through the front door.
“Whenever someone asks you for entry into your building, condo or apartment, that you only allow people that you know. It’s really for the protection of the other tenants in the building.”
