Three Toronto men are facing a slew of drug and firearm charges after a car was stopped over the weekend as part of a police investigation.
Officers with the Gun and Gang Task Force responded to the Scarborough area Saturday evening.
During the late hours, officers stopped a car in the Kingston Road and Highway 401 area as part of the investigation.
Police say three people were arrested in the traffic stop. Officers allegedly seized a fully-loaded handgun from one man and a sawed-off shotgun.
Twenty-four-year-old Matthew Seymour Reid, 19-year-old Keyshawn Kawano and 24-year-old Mikyle Mitchell face a combined 31 charges including possession of an unauthorized firearm, a firearm with a tampered serial number, a firearm obtained by crime, and a Schedule I substance.
Reid faces additional charges including possession of a loaded firearm and Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The three men made a court appearance Sunday morning.
