“I’m happy to confirm that last week, les Canadiennes de Montreal, who won the Clarkson Cup, will be in our parade,” McCann said.
“We’d like to make sure that they are part of it.”
A victory parade had not been planned by the city.
Les Canadiennes defeated the first-place regular season seed Calgary Inferno 3-1 at the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata, Ont. on March 5.
The team was honoured by the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday in front of a sell-out crowd, despite the massive snow storm that blanketed much of the province.
The United Irish Societies of Montreal said it was an easy decision to feature Les Canadiennes in the 194th edition of the parade.
