A winter storm has closed down all schools and centers in Eastern Townships School Board.

At the Montreal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, over 50 flights destined for Toronto and the North Eastern United States, including, New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Connecticut have been cancelled.

Over 50 flights arriving in from the North East U.S. have also been cancelled or delayed.

According to Environment Canada,  “heavy snow and blowing snow will begin over Southern Quebec this morning, in the Quebec City area early this afternoon, and over Eastern Quebec later on.”

Southern Quebec is expecting five to 10 cm of snow this morning, with winds of up to 40 km/h but will increase to 60 km/h by noon.

The Eastern Townships, Beauce, Quebec City and Charlevoix are expecting between 30 and 50 cm of snow through out the day.
