The man granted a new trial in the murder of a north Okanagan teenager appeared in a Kelowna courtroom Monday by video link from prison.
Matthew Foerster admitted to the bludgeoning death of 18-year-old Taylor Van Diest in October 2011 in Armstrong. He was convicted of first-degree murder.

But last week, the guilty verdict was overturned on appeal because of mistakes by the judge in his final instructions to the jury.
Foerster says he doesn’t yet have a legal-aid lawyer for his new trial.
The case was adjourned for two weeks when a trial date will be set.
