Officers were called to a home on St. Catherine Street just off Archibald Street just before 10 p.m. Friday, after hearing a man had been assaulted.
A 49-year-old man was rushed to hospital but later died of his injuries.

The homicide unit is investigating.
Police crews were on scene Saturday afternoon and had several homes in the area taped off.
