The machine will be closed from Dec. 23 until Jan. 7.

The company says the 15-day shutdown will result in a 4,000 metric tonne reduction in newsprint output.

In June, the majority of more than 300 workers at the mill – the last in the province – accepted a new contract amid the threat of imminent closure.
