Calgary police have charged three people, all from the same family, with first-degree murder in the death of 24-year-old Ryan Lane.
Police say Lane was lured to a parking lot on Country Hills Boulevard, where he was kidnapped and later killed.
“We believe Ryan Lane died shortly after he was taken that day on Country Hills Boulevard,” says S/Sgt. Grant Miller of the homicide unit.
Police have confirmed they believe Lane was killed in a custody dispute involving a daughter he fathered with 26-year-old Sheena Cuthill Rempel.

Just hours before he went missing, he has first court-ordered visit with his daughter, who is now five.
Sheena Cuthill Rempel is now charged with first-degree murder, along with her husband Tim Rempel and her brother-in-law Will Rempel.
Hundreds of volunteers searched an area near Beiseker for weeks last spring and summer after Lane disappeared in February.
Police say Lane’s remains were discovered in late June, then sent to an RCMP lab.
Police won’t say how Lane was killed, but they are not ruling out further charges, including committing an indignity to a body and kidnapping.
All three of the accused will appear in court next Thursday.
